The Woodford Group has announced a 36-month distribution contract with Softbev – a major player in the FMCG industry that specialises in a variety of soft drinks, including Pepsi, Cooee and Jive.
The contract, worth about R45-million, will see Woodford Vehicle Rentals distribute the Softbev products via a fleet of 36-Ton Nissan UHD 490 Super Links. The agreement is similar to one signed a few years ago through which Woodford is responsible for the distribution of Softbev products in KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape.
“We’re very humbled to have received the thumbs up from Softbev for Gauteng. Servicing the company in three provinces is a sign of the mutual trust that exists between us,” says Owais Suleman, managing director of the Woodford Group.
A determining factor in securing the latest contract was the unique offering presented by Woodford which provided a fixed cost inclusive of a number of benefits. “Our main priority is to keep our clients’ goods moving with as little hassle as possible. Our promise is that we’ll handle any issues or situations that may arise, and will get the goods to the destination in good time,” says Suleman.
The system employed by Woodford relies on what Suleman describes as the perfect blend of in-house capabilities and strategic relationships that ensure added benefits such as vehicle tracking, roadside assistance and mechanical and tyre repairs.
Suleman says the offering has been shaped by almost 25 years of experience in the industry, with Woodford having adapted and tailored solutions for its clients to provide better value in a highly-competitive market.
The company currently operates a fleet of 145 commercial vehicles, ranging from one-ton to 36-ton vehicles.
