The Freight Transport Association (FTA) in the UK has launched new qualifications for commercial fleet managers. Created in partnership with the commercial transport industry, the qualifications are the first in the sector and are aimed at equipping current and future commercial vehicle fleet managers with skills in people management, vehicle procurement and fleet maintenance.
The FTA’s Head of Training, Keith Gray, said: “We are delighted to be able to offer qualifications that provide a structured career path for logistics professionals. With the introduction of Fleet Management Qualifications there is now a clear development and career pathway. Our aim is to create a portfolio of qualifications that give those working in the industry nationally-recognised, transferrable skills.”
The qualifications have been registered with the UK’s Office for Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual).
