Daimler Trucks North America have partnered with telematics corporation Zonar to offer customers over-the-air engine programming.
By offering unique applications and solutions, Zonar have developed a system whereby a variety of parameters such as speed limiter settings will be programmable without having to send the truck to the workshop.
“If you had to take your mobile device to the store for a few days while it got a software update, you wouldn’t be too happy; and why should a telematics system be any different”, comments Matthew Pfaffenbach, head of Telematics at Daimler Trucks North America.
“By allowing parameters such as speed control to be remotely accessed and set, it allows fleet managers to make changes such as reducing the top speed of a vehicle when the fuel price increases”.
