A Mercedes-Benz Actros – equipped with the millionth V6 diesel engine produced at the company’s plant in Mannheim, Germany — has been bought by Russian freight operator KonTrans. The truck will be used to transport groceries across Eastern Europe.
At the handover, Gerald Jank, head of the Mercedes-Benz plant at Wörth – where the truck was assembled – presented a symbolic key to Michail Proskurnikov, CEO of KonTrans. Jank said in a statement that production of the engine represented another milestone in the continuing success story of Mercedes-Benz Trucks.
