Recent awards presented to Imperial Logistics’ African Regions operations reflect the organisation’s outstanding marketing and distribution capabilities for pharmaceuticals, healthcare and medical products, as well as Imperial Logistics’ in-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements in this testing environment.
Multinational pharmaceutical leader GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) named Imperial Logistics group company CIC Namibia Agent of the Year at its annual conference.
“This award was presented to CIC Namibia in recognition of the remarkable performance of its Supra Sales division, which grew GSK’s business in Namibia by 34.4% despite the prolonged recession in the country,” says Imperial Logistics African Regions CEO Johan Truter.
CIC Namibia provides GSK with marketing, sales and merchandising solutions for all of the company’s oral care and over-the-counter pharmaceutical brands.
At an awards ceremony in Madrid, Spain, GE Healthcare honoured Imperial Logistics’ pharmaceutical distribution business Surgipharm for its exceptional achievements in Kenya. GE Healthcare is a leading global medical technology and life sciences company.
Truter expands on this accolade: “Surgipharm was presented with GE Healthcare’s ‘Marketshare Capture Award’, in recognition of its success in capturing the maximum marketshare for GE Healthcare in a territory. All of GE Healthcare’s distributors from Africa and the Middle East were contenders for this prestigious annual award. Taking top honours is a real feather in our cap, and is testament to Surgipharm’s experience, expertise and commitment to delivering seamless route-to-market solutions for the world’s leading pharmaceutical principals.”
Surgipharm provides GE Healthcare with distribution solutions for its range of contrast media, anaesthetic machines, ventilators, incubators, baby warmers, diagnostic cardiology machines and monitoring systems.
Imperial Logistics’ healthcare business in Nigeria, Worldwide Healthcare, was recently presented with the 2018 Best Compliant Pharmaceutical Importer Award by the National Agency for Food Administration and Control (NAFDAC).
Truter notes that receiving this award from the regulators themselves is an outstanding achievement for Worldwide Healthcare.
“It bears testimony not just to our dedication to and success in driving our clients’ competitiveness and delivering measurable results, but to doing this the right way, with an unwavering commitment to complying with regulatory requirements,” he says.
